Big Idea: Adam chose to disobey in a garden. Jesus chose to obey in a garden. One choice brought sin — the other brought rescue.

Key Verse: Romans 5:19 — "For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous."

Key Line: "Adam said no to God. Jesus said yes — for us."

Teacher Tips:

Keep the stained shirt and bring it back as a running visual.
The two-station walkthrough works powerfully for preteens too — physically moving from one garden to the other makes the contrast tangible.
Don't rush the discussion. The idea that Jesus DIDN'T want to suffer but chose to anyway is incredibly meaningful for this age group. Let them sit with it.
If a kid asks "Why didn't God just forgive everyone without the cross?" — say: "Because God is just — sin has a real cost. The cross shows that God takes sin seriously AND loves us deeply at the same time." </aside>
